Archive 2000 . . . . . An Old Favorite
Gets Research by Barbara Buhler Lynes, renowned author of the recently published, Georgia O'Keeffe: Catalogue Raisonne, has resulted in changes to a favorite object in the Museum's permanent collection. Formerly known as Train Coming into Canyon, 1918, the Museum's watercolor is now more accurately Train at Night in the Desert, 1916. This significant change demonstrates the importance of scholarly research in the field of art and art history. What mysterious clues were revealed to prompt this dramatic alteration? You'll have to attend The "Georgia on My Mind" Luncheon hosted by the Art Museum Alliance on May 10, 2001, where Lynes will be the guest speaker. Look under PROGRAMS on this web site for more information on this "don't miss" event. |

Special thanks to National Honor Society students at Tascosa High School for volunteering, along with the Museum's wonderful volunteer docents who help make the Workshop happen every year. The Museum is also grateful to The Christmas Shoppe in Wolflin Village Shopping Center for sponsoring this year's special event. |
