Benefits of Membership

The Artist-in-Residency Program serves the Amarillo Independent School District, community centers, and our 26 county Gifted and Talented program that involves 3,000 area youths. This and other educational resources provided to the citizens of the Panhandle are dependent on membership support.

 Membership dues also play a major part in supporting exhibition programs, collections management needs, and operational costs.
Last year's membership drive exceeded our goal by some 15%, allowing us to proceed with crucial permanent collection management improvements in the vault.  With the growth of the permanent collection assisted by private doners and the Amarillo Area Foundation, 1999 promises to be a very exciting time in the history of the Museum.
The Museum's exhibitions and programs enhance the quality of life for the region and afford an asset for economic development and tourism. Financial support for the Museum is provided by membership and individual contributions, the Betty Bivins Childers Endowment Fund and other Board invested funds, Amarillo College, fundraising efforts, federal and state grants, earned income, and foundation support.
