Highlights of the Museum’s Asian Art Collection now featuring Indonesian Sculpture

Excellent examples of Indonesian figurative sculpture are currently on view in the Museum’s Library.  Though their style is closely related to the art of Gupta period India, these Java examples are made of black volcanic stone and have forms that are softer and gentler than those produced in South Asia.  The exhibition continues until January 9, 2000.
