Art Activity, Ongoing – Silhouette Posters with Neon Paint

MORE ON THE LECTURE: Dirk Fowler is an internationally recognized graphic designer. His work has been honored by The Society of Publication Directors, Type Director's Club, American Advertising Federation and the American Poster Institute. His letterpress posters have been featured in design periodicals, Communication Arts, STEP Inside Design, PRINT, NOVUM and numerous books including New Masters of Poster Design: Poster Design for the Next Century, The Art of Modern Rock and Swag 2: Rock Posters of the 90s and Beyond, for which he co-wrote the forward. He has also exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide and lectured nationally. He curated the 2004 exhibition, Graphic Content: Art of the New Music Poster, which toured in the US in 2005 and 2006.

MORE ON THE ART ACTIVITY: Inspired by the Rock On! Art of the Music Poster from the 60s and 70s exhibition, this Third Thursday, create a silhouette rock poster using paper and neon paint. AMoA will help you trace your profile on paper and provide paint so you can decorate a poster featuring you as the lead of a band!

THIRD THURSDAY is FREE and open to the public. No reservations are required. It is a great opportunity to view the current exhibitions and participate in the offered activities. The Amarillo Museum of Art invites everyone in the community to enjoy this event.
