TITLE: Interpreting a Work of Art Through Creative Writing

The above are continuations of TEKS objectives encountered in the 6th and 7th grades.

OBJECTIVE:

Students will create a story based upon their interpretation of a work of art. The story will display  students‚ knowledge of writing conventions, elements of a short story, literary conflict and use of descriptive text.

IMPLEMENTATION:

After choosing an image or an art object, students will write a narrative or play based on their interpretation of the image.                                        

RELATED ACTIVITIES:

1. Students may make presentations before the class as a storyteller might.

2. A group may present their interpretation in play form.

3. Students may compare and contrast their stories with each other.
