Texas Panhandle Student Art Show

This student art exhibition is the highlight of the year for Panhandle art students. It exemplifies dedication, imagination, talent, and creative manipulation by students K-12 in both public and private schools throughout the Texas Panhandle. Both 2D and 3D pieces consisting of paintings, drawings, printmaking processes, computer art, collage, jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, and mixed media work will be on display.
The 2015 Texas Panhandle Invitational Student Art Show will consist of two parts:
Individual Exhibition
Art teachers may enter up to twenty pieces of individual work that will be hung salon style (ceiling to floor) with three dimensional pieces filling the south gallery floor. Walls will be designated for middle school, elementary, and high school artworks.
Senior Portfolio Exhibition:
In the north gallery, senior students exhibit their portfolio consisting of at least eight pieces of artwork created during their high school years. They will have a limited amount of wall space and may hang as many pieces as will fit within their area. Portfolios will be judged for scholarships by Amarillo College, West Texas A&M University, The Education Credit Union, and the Texas Panhandle Art Education Association. College professors will interview students as part of the scholarship application process on Scholarship Night May 5, 4:00 to 6:30 PM at the Amarillo Museum of Art. Reception and Scholarship/Award Ceremony: May 15th, 6:30 PM at the Amarillo Museum of Art.

The Amarillo Museum of Art is open:
Tuesday through Friday from 10 am - 5 pm.
Saturday and Sunday the Museum is open from 1 pm - 5 pm
(except for exhibition installation weeks)
There is no admission fee.
The Amarillo Museum of Art publishes and distributes numerous fine art catalogues and posters. Southeast Asian and East Indian artifacts are featured as well as renowned modernist artists such as Georgia O'Keeffe and John Marin.
