OBJECTIVE:

Students will be able to make comparisons and show contrasts between two similar or dissimilar art objects. Historical time periods will be indicated by style of dress and invention.

IMPLEMENTATION:

  1. After studying the images above, students will describe the similarities and differences between the idyllic scene as pictured in the Huet, and the once modern real world as recorded by Lee.
  2. Teachers may opt to have students brainstorm adjectives, adjectival phrases, verbs, verb phrases, prepositional phrases, and other parts of speech with students prior to beginning the above activity.

RELATED  ACTIVITIES:

Students may wish to create images using this format, a picture within a picture, and have classmates describe the images in terms of comparisons and contrasts. Scene description, setting, historical time period, and subject may be areas for exploration.
